There’s a fair chance you have a favourite gaming controller if you’re a gamer. And PC aficionados like myself can’t argue that certain games are actually best played with a controller, so we all have our preferences. Over the years, there have been a plethora of game controllers, some of which are unquestionably superior to others. You might be using a video game controller if you are playing a game while taking a break from working as one of the forex trading brokers vietnam.

Before we get started, it’s important to remember that this isn’t a list of any game controller; rather, it’s a ranking of the strongest. We’ve seen a lot of game controllers over the years, and attempting to incorporate them all will make this list unmanageable; this is so even though we just included first-party controllers. Sorry, Virtual Boy controller, but you’ll have to miss out on this one. Let’s dig into the list now, with the disclaimer out of the way.

  1. Super Nintendo gamepad

It doesn’t get any cooler than the SNES gamepad if you’re a retro gamer. Despite the fact that the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were rivals for most of the fourth generation in the early to mid 1990s, the SNES gamepad seems to have gained legendary status that the Sega Genesis controller has not. What is the reason for this?

The SNES gamepad had a lot going for it, including a D-pad that even I, a Sega boy, couldn’t deny was excellent. The arrangement of the face buttons is still used in contemporary controls, and it was one of the first controllers to have shoulder buttons. It did a lot of things well and had little bugs, so it’s no surprise that the controller is still popular today.

     2. DualShock 4

Though I’ve owned every version of the PlayStation, I’ve never been a major fan of Sony’s controllers, which have largely maintained the same style from the launch of the DualShock controller with the PlayStation 1 to the DualShock 3 with the PlayStation 3.

Sony, on the other hand, did more than just tweak the controller design for this generation. When it came to the DualShock 4, Sony’s design team was working on all cylinders, giving us one of the best controllers ever produced. It’s easy to wear, the thumbsticks are excellent, and it just feels like a step up from past DualShock controllers. The DualSense controller that comes with the PlayStation 5 seems to improve on the DualShock 4’s already outstanding build, and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on one.

     3. Xbox Elite Controller Series 2

You already saw this coming if you follow rankings like this one. The Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 is the best controller money can purchase right now, so it shouldn’t surprise controller fans to see it at the top of this chart. The issue, of course, is that purchasing one is prohibitively expensive.

The Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 isn’t inexpensive, costing $180. If you have the cash, however, you’ll probably find that this controller is well worth the high price. Even if you don’t use any of the extras that come with this controller – from extra paddles on the back to swappable d-pads to swappable, customizable thumbsticks – the rubberized grips and durable construction make it feel fantastic in the palm. The Series 2 builds on the Series 1’s compatibility by allowing you to play over Xbox Wireless, Bluetooth, or USB-C, answering one of my biggest concerns about the Elite Controller family. If you can handle the price, it’s an all-around great controller. For more articles like this one, click here.
